About coffee

Finca Arcangel was planted in 2015 and had its first harvest in 2017. What’s unique about the farm is that all the red and yellow caturras were grown separately from the other varieties, to experiment with the taste of an exclusively red or yellow cup. On the farm, the variety has a very good productivity, strong leaves, and pickers like it very much because the cherries tend to grow at the lower part of the plant, so it makes the job a lot easier as they can be reached better. In the cup, it’s a very sweet variety, balanced, consistent and it can be very well processed both, as washed or dried coco natural. Coco natural means that the cherries were dried in the skin on African beds, first for 5 days in direct sunlight and then in special drying containers at a maximum temperature of 40 °C for 20 days. These open containers are a world rarity. The heat comes from gas burners and the coffee is manually turned regularly.

Until recently, a majestic tree used to sit at the highest point of the farm, larger than all the rest and seemed to look down on the land, keeping it safe and protecting it as if it were an archangel. And so the farm got its name. What’s also special is that the farm is located at a steep mountain, with plenty of micro climates, which result in different times of maturation of the cherries and the harvest on this farm lasts up to 6 months!
Finca Arcangel is a farm where the coffee was planted and has grown ideally, perfectly aligned in a way that makes picking extremely easy. But it’s also a heaven of peace, an oasis that exudes peace and tranquility as if it really were inhabited by angels. Producers from nearby farms and everyone at Agricafe love visiting and spending time at Finca Arcangel to disconnect from the world, relax and recharge.

How to understand the grid on packaging?

We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to choose your coffee, so we worked with the guys from Steezy Graphic Studio to come up with a “grid” – a simple grid where you can easily find the characteristics of each coffee.
The red dot next to the description of each coffee is placed exactly there, so that you can easily imagine how the coffee will taste.

Citrus – chocolate
Here we’d like to give you an idea of how fruity the coffee will be. There’s a long way from citrus to chocolate, so imagine more in between:
citrus, berries, green apples, red apples, stone fruits, dried fruits, nuts, milk chocolate and dark chocolate 😉

Mild – wild
What is mild coffee? We’d say it’s unpretentious. A coffee that you can just have every morning and not have to think too much about it. It’s just good.
The higher the dot, the more excitement you can expect in the taste of coffee. The more surprising and fun it can be. These coffees are fruity, fun, interesting and make you think about what it is that you actually enjoy about them so much.
